Public CDN support in the software

If you'd like to enable CDN support for the software to minimize load time, you can do so by changing the following keys in ~/config/appSettings.config

jQuery, jQueryUI, jQueryMobile (change from false to true):
    <add key="jQueryUseGoogleCDN" value="true"/>
    <add key="jQueryUIUseGoogleCDN" value="true"/>
    <add key="jQueryMobileUseJQCDN" value="true"/>

Telerik scripts and skins (change from Disabled to Enabled):
    <add key="Telerik.ScriptManager.TelerikCdn" value="Enabled" />
    <add key="Telerik.StyleSheetManager.TelerikCdn" value="Enabled" />

Once the keys above are set, you need to go to AdminCP -> System Related -> Basic Maintenance -> click on Restart AppDomain:

This step is required to refresh the cache, so that you begin deliver local javascript without the libraries.

You do not automatically gain better performance with CDN. Make sure you test your site performance (using public performance tools, not just your browser) after enabling it. This is especially important for Telerik CDN which uses Amazon Cloud. I personally get worse performance so I only turn on CDN for jQuery scripts.

Do NOT use CDN if you host your forum on the Intranet. You get worse performance that way.

    Does this mean that I can put the whole site behind Cloudfront? I have tried it though I get a redirect loop.

    It's not me, it's you.....

    Hi Bud,

    No, it means you can use the software with the built in CDN to deliver some heavy JavaScript files, but not with cloud front.
