Google Login Warning / Not Working?

Some of you may have noticed that when you try to log in via the Google button, you got a warning similar to this:

But it still allows you to click "Accept" and log in.

This warning is due to Google's plan to shut down OpenID on the said date above.

Are you affected?

Anyone who turned on Google for authentication for the forum will be affected. However, if Google authentication worked for you, you / your users won't have any problem other than seeing this notice once. Google will continue to allow your domain to authenticate through Apr 20, 2015.

However, if you just installed the forum software, or moved the software to a different domain, then you may not be able to get Google authentication to work anymore with our current software implementation.

What's our plan?

If Google authentication appears to work for you, then there's nothing for you to worry about. We will release a new version of our software with a new implementation that uses Google's OAuth2 (Google+) authentication mechanism.

If you can't get Google Authentication to work for your forum now, know that we have 3 other login mechanisms in place: Facebook, Twittter, and the good old Forum Login that will always work.

Again, if it works for you now, it will continue to work until Apr 20.

Thanks, and stay tuned for our update in the near future.
