I am not happy with where you've put the user icons Sam in this Alpha 2 version

It does look better though with the bars in it, but I would leave the user info with the name.. there where it on allmost every board is. IMHO.. I know it is alpha.. just giving you some input.

Generally, I like the new position of the icons. However, I still believe cosmetic changes are better left to individual forum owners. As soon as you change something like this in the standard package, a good percentage of people aren't gonna like it.

Thanks Chief and I completely understand what you said. However, this cosmetic change was intended to fix a placement problem for the "timestamp" of the post because it wasn't placed in an very obvious location and I have received a few complaints about it, plus I agree with them too

It is actually very easy to modify the placement of the icons, so if you dislike anything, you can easily move them around.

yes.. i do recall that request and you probably solved it this way, because of the lack of space you would have, when you have the user icons, the "timestamp" and the subject and the post options all on one line.

I think it's great. It's much closer to what I had in mind for my own forum. Now I won't have to customize as much. Thanks for the change Samuel!

it sure gives you plenty of room

still the user icons aren't with the user any more.. and for sure with long posts.. you have to scoll down to pm the poster.

other option may be VB alike who uses a kind of a drop down box when clicking on the username. The dropdown box is kinda menu like, maybe css with <li> styles.. I am not good with that.

may I be a little bit a pain in the ..s :D

I can change it afterwards too but.. on snitz the post date is left and then comes the topic
on vb version 3.0 the topic is in the message body, but my point is.. the post date is allways on the same spot.

in this style the post date varies per topic.
