The blogging component is not going to be heavy. It will be based on the forum -> basically a built-in data extractor to present a particular forum with a typical blog interface.

Can we seperate out all the unneeded things? I am looking for a simple forum. I don't need the image gallery, ticketing syste, or blogging system. That just seems like unneeded bloat to me. I am sure others need them but maybe as a plugin?

Thanks for your message. I understand that you are anxiously waiting for it, and I can tell you that I am working on it diligently at the moment to make sure it will be a success when it is released.

The new version will be expanded somewhat to incorporate a blogging engine (backed by the forum, not separated) and a very refined mobile interface, and I hope to release it Q4 this year.

More info on the mobile interface will be available soon. It will support a variety of phone devices including iPhone, Android based phones and Blackberry, as well as tablets.

Thanks for your inputs and concerns you bring up. It is still a while away, but let me assure you that you won't be disappointed at all for the upcoming release. It will be the most user friendly and complete package for ASP.NET.

Samuel, is there any chance you could reconsider and roll 4.0 sooner rather than later? Maybe include the new features in 4.1?

I would second that, the work on my site is almost to the point where I am now just waiting on the new version so I can do a full site intergration with the login. While it sounds great that this will new version will be so great it seams that each time you talked about a release for this in the past it keept getting missed and now all we have is "a while". While I personaly would love to upgrade my two licesnes to the new version and use it as the a keystone to the site intergation and my community forums but I also can't afford to keep such a major site (and for what will be a long time the most active side) down.

Do think the 4.0 release will be in X days, weeks, or months? I'm really looking forward to the facebook integration.

I too am looking for the Social Media intergration, I actualy really need this. I either need to build a custom registration and membership for my site or intergrate it into my site. Talking with visitors ot my site most of them would not want to deal with registering but would rather do an intergration. This has made me put a whole big section of my site development on hold. I am really excited about the improvments in 4.0 but I don't know how much longer I can be waiting for a release.

Features and look are both going to be affected, but not significantly. It will retain a forum look, with a couple additional interfaces, but it will still look familiar to you.

I'd really love to give you an ETA, but I don't have it with me other than ASAP. It takes extensive research to complete the marketing side of the whole equation.
