Moderators cannot see the private forum unless you have added them as moderators specifically to that forum - and even then, I am not 100% sure, if they can see the forum without also being added to the private group as well.

If Moderator A is given access to the private group on Forum A, and not to Forum B, then Moderator A cannot see Forum B at all - doesn't even know it exists.

Again, Admins can see everything - this only affects Moderators.
RE: Moderation Roles for only their own forum (Guest)

Thank you for your help. The one last piece of this question that slipped through the cracks in the last forum we purchased is this. When you have all forums marked as private and you have a different moderator set up for each forum, I need it to not allow the moderators to even see the posts in the other forums and even see that the other forums exist. Is this possible? The other forum that we purchased could only get it so that the moderators were limited to moderating their own forums but could see the posts in the other forums. This was a serious enough issue for us to abandon that forum.

RE: Moderation Roles for only their own forum (WayneM)

I can answer as a user, yes. You can assign groups to moderate each forum, and/or you can assign individual users. You can have different users moderating each forum, you can assign the same users for some forums and not for others, any combination you can think of.

You can also make forums private, and add private users, so that other forum members not in the group assigned to the private forum will not be able to see it.
Moderation Roles for only their own forum (Guest)

I have a need to create forums and have a moderator that is specific only to that forum. Is is possible to do this with your product? The reason for this is that we will have several departments within our organization that wish to use this and for legal reasons they are not allowed to see the other departments posts. If this is possible can you explain how you would go about doing this in your product? The reason that I ask is that we purchased a forum already that told us that this functionality was available and when trying to implement this exact function it was discovered that it did not work the way that it was advertised.
