isn't it an idea to post events just like threads or polls.
depending on the rights the poster should be a able to select a calendar and date etc. And a poster (moderator/admin) should be able to add an event to an existing topic, which isn't posible at this moment.
the topic could be sticky the week (adjustable) before the event starts. (an admin should be able to make the event an (board/category/forum announcement for the time the event lasts).
It would be an forum feature like this.
The calendar would still be ike an overview. but posting events would be somewhat easier and there will be more attention for events.
I asked on my forum, and nobody is looking into the calender or scrolling down to look at upcoming events
I know it is possible to create a topic and enable discussion the way it works now. But after creating the event, you have to go to the topic seperatly and make a topic sticky, not to forget to unstick it.
automation can make it a lvl 3 sticky lvl 2 sticky lvl 1
etc.. the idea is to get events more on the board in stead of being hidden ..
