pm suggestions

a way to flag or mark messages unread. This is handy when you have read a PM but have to deal with it later. Ask a confirmation (just like with e-mail) that the sender has read the PM.. you can allready check if someone has read the PM... it would be handy to see in the send items in bold the ones that still not has been read, in stead of clicking on the receipients name. That feature was there in Snitz too and I think it is more userfriendly.

If you have important PM's you can first create a folder "important" and move the PM to that folder. I am currently considering two options for PM read notification in addition to what we have here. 1 is the snitz style (not sure how because we support multiple recipients) and the other is vB style (kind of waste space). One of them will be available in version 2.4.
ASPPlayground.NET ~ see our Version 4 plans here

it doesn't look like it will be easy to implement the vB style, cuz it is gonna be a big problem if you send a PM to a user group. There is no need to emulate Outlook for a web application.

so how do you define "read"? Should a message be flagged "read" after all recipients have read it?

In Snitz you would saw your post double in sent messages or triple or plural in your outbox, and also in the database the PM was inserted plural. Not very good for performance if you wanted to sent to everyone a PM as an Admin but that did not happen much and only an admin can do such. If I see this dbase structure it is possible to have it like it is know, with multiple names behind the message, just the receivers name should not be inserted as a text string but read from the PMreceive table.. then you can also see if a message is read, and then you can choose how you would like to show that.. like the receivers name being bold or red or whatever.

an other pre.. is that the receivers won't have to know from each other that they received the same message because I was to lazy to type it twice

ErEf solution seems quiet good. For interface you can use like the topic + style that you used before. If some user click the tree see who read it who is not. In the To: section it would be nice to see "(5/7) users read last user is ErEf " something like that.
