next previous message

is it possible to have a previous and next message option? it prevents scrolling a lot.

I cannot see this in 2.3 version list and even vbulletin has it.

It is very handy when viewing in tree style to have a link to go to next message in the tree. There is an option to close the tree, but how can je go to the next message if the tree is closed?

2.3 feature list was finalized a while ago. Not speaking for Sam, but I think he will add this in his 2.4 feature list.

For topics it would be nice to see next previous topic with mouse on over topic name displayed ?

It would make a nice mod.

It will affect performance because you will need an additional query (not a simple select query) to get the topics.

Most of new started forums doesn't have enough load so additional query would not much affect them. This kind of features would help them to develop faster. Just add it but default disable it such a Member tracking feature.

Another idea can be user seleceted performance figures in profile. I mean don't get those get only these and make it faster for me. Such a don't show me last post column in topic page. Don't show me hits of topics, or even + icon and mouse on over preview feature just get it me faster. And maybe I am a feraquent visotor and last 20 topics in tt.asp is enoung for me.

This kind of features could be useful for bandwith savings for site runner. What do you think ?
