member banning

when banning a member his ip is blocked automatically when letting the member on the board again you have to unban him and remove the ip number from the filter list. Unbanning should be enough to remove his ip from the ip list in the forum filters.. else you have to remember his ip or write it down and then find his ip in the list.. This can cause errors, which I have made a few. I think banning is so import it may have its own 'department' in the administration where you can see in one moment who is banned and which ip nr belongs to the person.

Is it like that ? I was wondering why was some banned persons couldn't login anymore even unbanned from the list. Samuel please add something like banned thru this date feature and let the person could find what is happening why he has banned and till when trying to login. And I saw in a forum user name strikethrough with title banned. I suggest that because of sometimes even we have banned a bad person our members didn't know that we banned and tells us again or thinking we didn't made our job well enough.
