When uploading an animated gif as an Avatar, the animated gif no longer becomes animated.

The upload feature limits the size and dimension of the uploaded file, so if the gif's dimension is too big, the software will automatically resize it, causing loss of the animation feature of the file.

You can try uploading a small ani gif and see it still animated.
