SQL 2000 only. If I buy, can we use old version until we upgrade db?

Info: We must purchase a solution TODAY. It's either aspplayground.NET, or a PHP solution that the company is already familiar with. I'm a .NET developer so obviously I'm pushing for ASPPlayground.NET.
 
Problem: We have only a SQL 2000 database in production.
 
Question: If we buy the current ASPPlayground.NET version today, would we also have access to download and install the old version (2.x) in order that we could use it with our current SQL backend immediately? And later, when we upgrade to SQL 2005, we'd then have the 3.x version of ASPPlayground.NET to migrate to without paying anything more?  If yes to both, we're ready to buy.

Thanks for your inquiry first. Yes, if you purchase today, you can use V2 first and then upgrade to v3 when you have SQL 2005, without paying additional license fee.

Just make sure you download v2.5.5 Unicode (there are ANSI and Unicode versions for V2)

V2 and V3 are very different.

Here is a short version of what's new in V3. We are going to prepare a more detailed description which will be available in a while.

So version 2.4x is same thing as v2.5x but it's classic ASP vs. ASP.NET 1.1?

Yes, as long as you choose 2.4.5 Unicode. 2.4.5 = 2.5.5 in terms of functionalities.

2.4.5 = classic ASP;
2.5.5 = ASP.NET 1.1, and both have ANSI and Unicode versions.

Only the Unicode variant can be upgraded directly to V3.
