ASP.Net

I am running Win 2003 IIS 6 with .Net installed and capable as well as SQL Server 2000.  Everything I've run thus far uses Classic ASP of which I am familiar.  Two questions: (1) I've never worked with .Net and am not familiar with it. Would the .Net version be beyond my experience level to install and administer? (2) What advantages does the .Net version have over the Classic ASP version?  Thanks

  1. no, not at all. The installation and administration of both our versions are identical. Don't worry about this at all
  2. If you have a .NET based site, using the .NET version of the software can be easier to integrate the membership system using our SIP (Site Integration Package). File uploading and downloading is also faster.

And with the "Site Integration Package" you are referring to authentication via Active Directory?

no, the site integration package is designed to work with your web site: http://www.aspplayground.net/sip/readme.htm

For example, we can use the SIP to generate RSS feeds, display latest threads on your site, integrate with SigmaChat and external membership.
