speed option > no signatures

A member came with the question if he could disable viewing other persons signature.

Seems a nice feature.

Easily done - Ive added a 'speed' option to my edit profile where the output html is reduced by up to 50% by removing the 'pretty' stuff
For sigs, its just a case of adding another condition in tm.asp

<%= iff(withsig = 1 and len(signature)>0 AND Speed = 1 ...etc

To actually set up the profile option takes a bit more coding

Not to hijack your thread but another sig feature I would like to see is only showing one members sig per topic. So if a member responded 5 times to the same topic only on the reply would you see their sig.
I don't know if it would speed things up all that much, but it would certainly make things cleaner.

I am supporting that feature to. Sometimes users just wants post not the big or fancy signatures. We are not allowing big signatures but easiest way to stop big signatures are give users to turn off signatures.

I think that's their right. I mean if somebody just wants to see post not his signature. Even Snitz have that option I think this kind of feature must be next to smile, not to show images and avatars options.


Most of users are dial-up and most of asp servers don't have any http compression software so I believe it will speed up things well.

I just had a member request signature disabling as well. Was there ever a Mod written for this?

Any comments on this one? I just had a couple more people request this feature. Thanks.
