forums do not appear on the home page!

Q: I added forums using the admin interface but they don't appear on the home page. It looks like there are no forums at all. What happened? A: This is a configuration error. What you created were categories, not forums, and without sub-forums, categories won't appear on the home page. Categories are containers and the software hides the containers if they are empty. You will need to add "sub-forums" under the categories you created.
