As we have been working on the administration interface for a while, we have decided to release another updates before the 1.40.11 major upgrade:

The feature list for 1.39.10 will have the following new features:

Admin Interface:

  • Complete redesign of the administration interface to allow more sophisticated and user-friendly functions (completed)
  • Message prune utility with user + date parameters
  • User Delete
  • ASPMail, ASPEmail component support

User Interface:

  • Redesigned Post/reply/edit/forward interface (completed)
  • Member lists (allows multiple sorting)
  • Forum Auto Login (completed)
  • message expiring in ? of days (on a per forum basis)

Please make feature requests to us (as many as you can think of ), so we will have a complete and final edition out for our ASP based forum as soon as possible.

RE: 1.39.10
You guys are always the fastest. It' s hard to believe you have been working on the newer version on the date you release the last version.

Incredible!!

The auto login will be cool.. was looking to do a mod on this. It is sometimes too much trouble to ask user login again and again.

It will be even nicer if you let admin specify whether to enable auto-login.

RE: 1.39.10
I have a couple of things that I would like to see changed.

1. Profile opens up into a new window, not a pop-up window, but just a new browser window. I personally like to check people' s profiles while I' m reading a post and not have to hit the back button on my browser to figure out where I was in the post.

2. I don' t like how the " Newer Topic :: Older Topic" has the cell background. I would rather it where it is w/o the cell background and on the same line as navigation and reply button

... just some suggestions.

1. Ok, we will have the _blank attribute set by the next version.
2. The right side of the navigation and reply button is reserved for " show topic within 30 days" drop down menu, so I can' t really move the topic link up. However, it is in pure html, so if you don' t mind you can edit tt.asp by yourself.

Thanks for your suggestion

cool, I can handle that.

Once all of the major updates have been released, I hope to really dive into the code and really customize the forums for my site. I need to re-design my site and I am thinking about fully integrating the forum into my whole site instead of just having a link to it like I do now.

Samuel, how likely are you going to package the private message feature in your update release?
