Hey Samuel, I think it would be really excellent to give the users the ability to select the pre-defined "Skin" of their choice to change the look of the forum to their favorite color scheme.

Each "Skin" would consist of a color scheme, a dynamic stylesheet and a header/footer.

The member could select their favorite skin to use.

The skin could also be selected by using a combo box on the front page.

This is a great idea, Mike. I know this application could really be spruced up with advanced CSS & custom
graphics for a unique layout. Has anyone laid out a plan as to which areas need to be edited for customized
graphics, and various style sheet stuff (embedded or linked CSS).

Thanks!

Good suggestion as some of the forums I use are 'skinable'.

I had this on my previous snitz but it is like a gadget and does not put something extra to the forum

The color settings the logo etc the images buttons is the way I want my forum to look. It is my face. I don't want other people to change my face because they might like something else.

That is my opinion about the board too. The colour scheme I chose is the identity of the board.

It is very important every users choice is different. Also I can pay those skins a something like 25$ for each. You can prepare for us a new skin in a every month (or made by some one else and prepaid from you) and I believe enough users will buy those skins if it will be user selectable.

Other forums have like this kind of features but none asp forum have this ability built in. If you do it you will be only one for a while.

These are the accessories of your forum like ssl. Extra feature extra money for users in all it doesn't cost you more. You can even make some compatibility with vBulletin or Phpbb skins if you want to ?

For the most conservative scenario is current user selectable css styles could be easily exchange able wit only one copy paste and end forum member could chose what's he wants.

But I think you would go for the best thing could ever because that's what I see from your posts and currently done things till now.

Actually several ASP forums are skinnable. Two that come to mind are Toast and Carbon Communities. But I have to agree with ErEf, I don't think it adds anything to a forum. It's a toy and that's all. Also like ErEf, the look and feel of my forum is my decision. Just say no!

I agree. It's not so important.

However, if Samuel moves to external CSS files it would be great to have several color schemes to pick from as well as adjust text size.

Samuel, what browsers are you holding out on to maintain inline CSS?

OH! That reminds me!

In the Dynamic CSS Admin area...

It would be *very* helpful if you didn't have lines breaking up the styles. After modifying styles within the text boxes I like to copy and paste the CSS file into TopStyle Pro to work with.

Having to remove the line breaks is just annoying.

Thanks.

Hey Samuel, have you thought about this feature?

I replied in another thread in this forum that this feature will not be part of version 2. I do have plan to include it in version 3 .NET.
