SPF and mail bounce backs
Wed. May 4, '05 12:31 PM
( permalink)
Our registered users are getting bounce back if their mail client is using SPF. Is there a way to change which email address is shown when the user recieves a confirmation email? Currently it shows their email as their email but the email doesnt originate from there. This causes SPF to bounce it back

I don't get this: Currently it shows their email as their email but the email doesnt originate from there. what confirmation are we talking about here? the registration confirmation? if so, the reg confirmation is sent via the forum admin's address, or the address you configured for your server messages.

are you still having this bounced mail issue? I am still not clear about the confirmation email in question. All confirmation/notification emails are sent via the admin account or the account you set up for server messages, and therefore, they will only trigger the SPF filter on member's email software if there is no SPF record on your own DNS server. Please update this thread to let us know the progress, thanks.
