Hello,

I am running on a .net 2.0 server and using SQL 2005 database (discountasp.net supplied it).
I have already written a non-commerical site (www.lysaucrane.com) and I used Sitefinity CMS to do that. I want to use this forum instead of theres (in fact for an easy life I would be happy to pay your guys to set it up

Can it be done and as I am using a non-commericial basc version do i get it for 200 - 250$ (then pplus the install fee)

Thanks alot.

Spencer

yes, it can definitely be done. The software for non-commercial site is 297 -20% with the coupon currently on the purchase page.

Sorry if this message is answered elswhere but I saw a post that stopped me buying this as it may be slightly restrictive.

I run a personal forum for a group of friends for an online game (as users, not for the dev team). However due ot the nature of the game, the domain that it is hosted on is relative to the name we have given ourselves for this year. The hosting server will also change every couple of years as does most I imagine.

I read somewhere here though that the forum license can't be transferred to a differente site/person. I don't want to transfer it as I will always be the owner but I do need to change the domain and/or server at points in the future. Is this still going to be possible.

I was looking for a free ASP forum to mode but this looks so nice that I am more than happy to pay the cost, just not every 6 or 12 months when the domain name changes.

Thanks for your interest and concern first.

And no, you don't have to worry about this at all. The restriction is meant to prevent transferring of license to a "different" person + site (legal entity), but since you are the only person using it on only one domain at any given time, this does not apply to you.

Thanks and let me know if you have other questions.

To purchase the software, you can come to this page when you are ready.

      Hi,
I realize that this thread is old, but that's all I get from my search.

We are also using Telerik's Sitefinity CMS. It turned out that the long awaited version 4 did not even have the very basic forums module from v3.7, so we need to get going with dedicated forum software.

From this thread, did you end up with some code for Sitefinity integration the last time?

When we first started moving to Sitefinity two years ago we had a company web that we set up in Visual Studio, that embedded YetAnotherForum.Net. While the latter might have been sufficient I would rather not go back to an unsupported system.
We chose Sitefinity to have user management common to the CMS and forums, and likewise to have built-in support for searching across all items. My bad, I did not check the forums module properly before purchasing. (otherwise very pleased with the abilities of Sitefinity)

Sitefinity fully supports the ASP.NET membership system, letting me configure a different membership provider. Could that be used with ASPPlayground.NET for a SSO, one way or the other?
Also, is it possible to embed ASPPlayground.NET in a .ascx UserControl? (to be used in Sitefinity)

Thanks, will choose as soon as possible.

      Best,
      Olav

        Hi Olav,

        Thanks for your inquiry first.

For SSO: You can definitely connect ASPPlayground.net for SSO purposes to any ASP.NET compatible membership provider, including the ASP.NET built in SQL Membership provider and the Active Directory Membership Provider. So, if you already have a membership provider that works with Sitefinity, you can definitely use it along with ASPPlayground.NET and achieve SSO.

However, ASPPlayground.NET is not an embedded system that runs in an ASCX user control. In other words, we did not build the software as a server control -> with the feature set we have, it is not feasible to do it within a server control really.
