Removing Margin & Padding Wed. May 21, '03 6:47 AM (permalink)

I can see that you can remove the margin of the body css, however you are still left with some form of margin or padding around the outside of the page. I need to be able to control this to make the design fit in with our site.

How can I remove this padding or set a px size for it?

Many thanks

Paul

You can also set leftmargin, rightmargin, etc. using the body attribute feature because NN4 does not understand CSS very well.

Thanks for the response.

Are you referring to the body css within the admin section. If so, I have modified this to include no padding or margins, but there is still a noticeable margin around the page. If not, what are you referring to?

Many thanks

I guess the margin you are referring to is the extra " table" in header_footer.asp that encompass the entire forum. You can simply edit the color of that table to remove the " margin" .

If you changed the colour (we have already) you would still be left with the same distance between the forum and the edge of the page (width).

Is it possible to remove this entirely or at least make it smaller?

The easiest way to design your header and footer is to use the dynamic header/footer feature. You can design the header/footer using DreamWeaver or Frontpage and then paste them back into the two textboxes. This way you do not have to edit any ASP file.

And yes, feel free to remove the extra table in header_footer.asp.
