Referral Program

I'm not sure if anyone else needs this, but I would love to add a referral program that allows current members to send an e-mail to a friend and request they sign up. This referal could automatically drop the referee's username in the referal box on the registration form. This referal field should also be a field on the registration form. In my situation I would love to have a point system for referals allowing them to earn points towards prizes or something on my site.

This can be done with the custom registration fields. Look for this option in the software's admin control panel. Not completely like what you describe (you need to code the e-mail part), but the referrer storage part is there for you.
