Question for commercial site
Thu. Jun 26, '08 10:49 AM

Hi, I am planning to create a commercial site but I haven't set up a domain yet. I have couple questions. 1. Is the Advanced Edition Full package for commercial site $297 (with no discount)? 2. Is it necessary to submit the domain URL in order to purchase the product (I haven't have a domain yet)? 3. What is the version if I purchase the Advanced Edition Full package? Will it be v3, v3 beta, or v2.5.5? 4. It seems the forum project is written using ASP.NET/VB.NET. Is there one using ASP.NET/C#? Thanks, Benson

thanks for asking and let me answer the questions one-by-one: - yes
- not for the current version (advanced edition). In version 3, we will need the URL in order to run the forum. You will get version 3 for free if you buy the advanced edition now.
- 2.5.5 Unicode
- no, the software is based on VB.NET 2005 (ASP.NET 2.0 - 3.5)

Hi Samuel, do you have a plan when will v3 be released? I would like to get v3 now rather than upgrade it later since I will need some modification on the DB and the code as well. And do you have any idea if this forum work on 1and1 hosting? Thanks, Benson

It will be available in a few days. I am finalizing the installation / upgrading routine at the moment. 1and1 hosting: I am sorry but I have no first hand experience with them. However, I briefly looked at the site and believed that the MS Developer package should be good for the software.
