I would like guests to be able to see the "list" of topics, but not able to read them.  Does this software allow configuration of guests for "list" permissions?

i.e.  a guest sees a forum.  he clicks the forum and sees a list of topics.  he cannot do anything else.

The software does not have this feature currently, but with a few lines of code modification, it can allow guest to be able to view the list of messages but not the content for all forums that are set to be read-only to guest.

hi Samuel.  If I buy this, I want to purchase setup as well.  Would you guys be able to add the "list" feature for me as part of the setup purchase of 1 hour?  SO lets say I buy a license and buy a 1 hour install.  Could you include this without charging me extra?

thanks!

wanted to add:
the reason I want the list feature is that I am going to host a subscription based forum service.  By having guests see the list of topics, it verifies to them the amount of content available and entices them to buy a subscription.  So as you can see, List permissions is very important to me as I want to "show off" basically all the topics in my forum, after which a subscription is required.

no problem. I can hack it in, but I will not add it as an option to the admin control panel. If you agree, the "no access" permission for guest will become list permission. You can still hide forums from guest with a check box.

hi Samuel.  Last questions (and thank you for all the responses):

I want to be able to add my own brand to the bottom of the forum pages.  Am I allowed to do this if I keep your brand as well?  For example:

Forum Software © ASPPlayground.NET
Website powered by www.blahblah.com (C) blah blah company

If I am not allowed to do this, then what is the cost for an unbranded license?

second, are you available for hire to make custom mods?  For example say I wanted the currently logged-on users to be displayed at the top of the main page, rather than the bottom...could I hire you if I gave you my server login info to go in and make the customization?

thanks for your answers

Hi,
  1. Yes, no problem
  2. The current logged-in user is displayed at the top of the main page by default though. I am rather busy at the moment but if it is simple hack, I might be able to help you (1-2 hours of work is fine). Anyway, I suggest that you register an account here and send me a PM with the hacks you have in mind, and I will let you know whether I will be able to help.
