I'd like to see more information displayed about the attachments in posts. Such as what file type they are, and their file size.

Yes, but isn't that counter intuitive to everything we teach people about being safe? Click on this link, it won't hurt you...you'll find out it's safe later? Not the easiest sale, even on a web site people trust.

ORIGINAL: ArmyAirForces Yes, but isn't that counter intuitive to everything we teach people about being safe? Click on this link, it won't hurt you...you'll find out it's safe later? Not the easiest sale, even on a web site people trust. What on earth are we to do? The page containing this reply has dozens of links where Samuel may have placed "bombs", just waiting to be clicked by unsuspecting users. Look out for that Reply button! Sorry for the sarcasm, but users happily click links to get to this page (or on your site) and others, why would they be worried about one more click? Aside from the above, embedded attachments in posts/replys are meant to be in support of the text. Info about file size and extension are not really relevent to the post. For interested users, it's readily available in the "Attachments" link as Samuel has said. Just my opinion. chief

What on earth are we to do? The page containing this reply has dozens of links where Samuel may have placed "bombs", just waiting to be clicked by unsuspecting users. Birds of a different flavor. The attachment is posted by a user. Other users have to determine; 1) Do I trust what this user has posted, 2) do I trust that the site has filtered out any sort of bad attachments. ...and the user only finds out about the 2nd window and its information after they've clicked on the attachment link. Is that something most users feel comfortable with the first time they see an attachment? I'm trying to look at this from the user viewpoint, users who come in all different types, ages, experiences, etc.
