Microsoft Sql Server 2005 feature Change Track Sun. Mar 19, '06 8:06 AM (permalink)

I have been playing with my new tow SQL 2005 in the other day and I found incredible feature change track in Full Text Search Options.

After enabling I found that every message is processed after few seconds that they have been posted. This is a great future and I really can't found and performance difference before.

After using this online search function I Scheduled a "optimize catalog" job for late night.  Samuel there can be a selecting function in next version for Change Tracking or Scheduled indexing. I Believe most of forum admins want something like that.

I haven't see any performance drops related to FT. Also I think this way is far better than doing with 2 hours periods. This instant way somewhat spreads cpu usage to time by doing it only when new message arrives.
