Licensing Issue for development

How can you differentiate the development and production server, in order to set up development environment, do we need extra license, if yes, how many locations can we install for only 1 license.

Thanks for your email. No, you don't need extra license for your development server, as long as there is only one installation at a time. That means if you remove the development copy once you install an instance on the production machine, you are safe with one license.

Ive also the same query. Currently, ive purchased 2 instances. and i have 2 environments (development  & production). I need to maintain the 2 enviroment as the client needs an development environment for future customization or changes, which is very typical in any deployment. And each environment needs 2 instances as its of different languages. Can this be achieve? Or i need to get additional 2 more instances lic for that? Pls advise.

Hi,

I will answer to you both together. Originally we did not define the use of the software in our license agreement on a development server, and it has always been our policy to allow the software to be installed and used for development purposes. We just modified the terms to explicitly allow one concurrent instance of the software to be installed on the development environment for each license you own.

So, for Chen Yue and Addixon, you don't need to buy another license to use the software on your development environment.
