so things are up and running, the page displayed and the text next to the forum read (Guest: No Access / Member: No Access) I went in and changed the forum config to allow guest to post / reply but no change, it says access denied, and if I log on as admin, the page refreshes and it shows up.

I think there is a problem with your database. I don' t know what caused it, but the problem is there and it is only in your forum. I will suggest a overhaul of the database. Run the full installation script against the db to rebuild everything. Make sure you get the latest SP5 package first (point 2 in my previous message).

That' s the one you will be using. Run the query against your db to wipe everything out.
