Do I take the jump?

Hi,

We are currently running a number of websites with the Snitz forums.

One of our major sites is due for a complete forum upgrade and we are about to install the new Snitz 3.4.05 with a number of mods. This particular site is the largest Recreational fishing site in Australia with an average of 4 to 6000 visitors plus per day.

The site is heavily moded and age has slowed it to a crawl even though we have a dedicated Xeon server running Win Server 2003 with our own SQL 2000 loaded into it.

I have now been pointed to your forums and on the face of it seem impressed; however given that we have 5 years of posts and a huge membership base, I am concerned that any transfer of the database may lose this.

I suppose I am looking for some comfort that others have completed the move without loss of data and that the move was a benefit.

Also a bit disappointed I am unable to see some of the mods in action or what mods are on offer.

We would be looking for the top-level forum in .asp; not .net

Any feedback to assist us would be welcome.

I know a few forums converted from Snitz (there are quite a few more, but I don't remember exactly the URLs):

There aren't much mods for this forum and they are inside a private forum so that's why you can't see them. But overall I think those who converted are quite happy according to their feedbacks in the private forums.

The conversion will preserve your members and messages without any loss. How many messages and members do you have in your snitz? you may need to delete some very old messages otherwise the conversion could take extremely long. For a board that has run for 5 years, I assumed you have millions of messages already.
