Date format Sun. Oct 7, '01 3:15 AM (permalink)

Trying to use your forum on one of my customer' s websites resulted in changeing the default date-format. Is that neccessary and - if not - how can I change it?
While you use a date like 10/7/2001 1:15:00 PM in Germany for example this would be written as 7.10.2001 13:15:00 (day before the month, hour in 24h-format).
Is your forum able to handle this and where (I think it is in global.asa) can I change it?

Sorry for my poor english... nad thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, it is located at global.asa. Look under session_onstart event, there is a line " session.LCID = 1033" . This is where my forum specifies locale information. Change to the corresponding locale id of Germany will solve your problem

        Hi,

only strange thing i noticed is, that the date format for the single postings is changed, but the front page of ASPPlayground (where you see all Forums listed) under the Cell " Last Post" still shows the old, english Date format.

        regards,
        Mynx

          Hi,

I stored the " Last Post" as string instead of date to save speed for Access version. I think this problem will be gone once you post a new message (which causes the content of " Last Post" to change)

My new SQL version will have full compatibility with international date that allows you to change LCID in real time without the need to modify any code.

there is a flaw in the current implementation of date format in ACCESS version. This version supports US long datetime format only.

Changing the LCID won' t help. It will cause the calculation of new post incorrect.

              sorry about this.
