I am interested in using aspplayground as a tech support software, knowledge base solution and logging database w/ user created solutions. We are expecting users/system to make about 50,000 threads a month. I have done alot of researching to find to most lite weight forum on the internet knowing that our server will be very active. Also I have a few other questions to ask
 
1. Can I use a database other than sql server? SQL Server license is very expensive.
2. Does aspplayground performance start to degrade after many many posts have been made? If so can you recommend a forum that may be able to handle many posts?
3.  Can I install additional forums on my server without buying another license for aspplayground?
4. What is the price to remove all aspplayground logos from the forum?

Thanks for your interest in our software. Let me answer your questions one-by-one:

1. No, we only support SQL 2000 and 2005, and you can use SQL 2005 Express edition with Advanced Services which is free to use for development and hosting.
   
2. we have users with more than 10 million posts, 6 million posts, 5, 4 and many over 1 million posts and all run fine.
3. no, each installation requires a separate license
4. 100 USD more than the regular price. e-mail me (admin at my domain) and I will send you the link the purchase the license. You also get 30% discount on this license during this holiday season sales event.

Are you able to provide links for sites that have achived over a million posts. I just need to see proof that this software can handle that many posts before I make an investment. Not only will humans be making posts the computer will be making them too so I am sure the number of posts will be alot. Thanks again

At the end of each year we open an 10,000 replies topic. members are allowed to post anything just to get 10.000 posts before 31st of December. Sometimes there are so many members posting in the topic that after you click the reply button you're one page further, and that without any noticeable performance degradation. We started at the 17th this month and yesterday we reached the 10.000.. just in one topic.
