Ads in thread

Its often a problem to get users to click on ads in forums, because they ads are placed in header, footer or on a sidebar. This means ad blindness and low income. Many forums now place an ads under 1, 2 or 3 post in a thread, which works very well, because this is where people look when the look at the thread and changing position removes ad blindness. So after testing this forum, my only question is "How do i place ads random under 1, 2 or 3 post in an thread"? If this is not possible will it be soon? It should be pretty easy to implement, and would add great value to this software. Regards, Tim Hansen

Yes, it is possible. You will need to modify the template for messages display in order to insert the ads between messages. The template for message has a counter which tells you the position of the current message in the thread. You will add your ad code into the template and show/hide it based on the message position and your own ad serving logic. If you hover over the Message Options menu on each message, you will see an item called message number. We show this number based on the counter mentioned above.

This is a great question, I was about to ask something similar. Can anyone answer this?

I already answered the question above. There is a tutorial I posted here that covers this here.
