Hi,

I have been checking out this software for a client who is interested in purchasing and I have a few questions: Are new members appoved by the admin by the admin searching for "users who have not passed registration", selecting that particular user and modifying his/her status? If not, what are the correct steps to take? Will an email notification be sent at that time to the user?

Thanks!

there are two methods an admin can approve registrants:
    1. as you said, that's the way to do it, but not the most efficient way
    2. admin will also receive an email when a new user registers. In the email, a link will be provided so that the admin can click on it to approve the user. Once an account is approved, the user will be notified by email automatically.

Thank you, Samuel, I appreciate the information! I believe that will work very well for us.

      Hi Samuel,

We have purchased the software for our client and I have set it up; I had previously posted the beginning of this thread as the guest user. However, when I pretend I am a new user registering for the forum, the admin receives the approval request email with only the wording I have set up in the "Server Messages" section. There is no link provided that allows the admin to approve the user, as you previously stated. Is there another setting for this? Also, as a user who is registering, should I receive the registration confirmation email?

      Thanks.

      Hi Samuel,

Please ignore the previous quote. I have read through things a bit more and understand the setup process for the server messages.

      Thanks!

      Hi Groovis,

You are a member of the license holders now, so you can ask questions in the support forum as this forum is for pre-sales related questions. I understand that you didn't want to start a duplicate thread in another forum this time.

      Hi Samuel,

I posted the original thread as a "guest" user, did the last reply as "Groovis" and now am reposting as a "guest
user. The reason I am doing this is because I changed the email address on my "groovis" account. I was not aware
that I would have to wait for a confirmation before I could continue on logged in as "groovis". Besides having to wait
for a confirmation, I have a problem with the forum integration for which I was trying to access the "support" forum:
when I test the configuration of the forum integration in the site that I am using, emails regarding a user whose registration
is denied come through to the user OK. However, if I try to register as a user, the admin (which is also me with a unique
and valid email address as I am testing this out for the client) never receives an email saying someone's registration
is pending (it is set up so the admin must approve all registrations) as well as I never receive a confirmation that my
registration is under review (I use a valid but unique email address for the registration process). I am confused as
to why the delete/decline registration message gets sent out but the actual registration related messages do not.

I have set up a valid email address for my admin account, have set up a dummy email address for the
"Server Messages" account and have set up a dummy email address for the basic configuration.

Also, if more than one user is made an admin user, should all admin users get email notifications for
new registrations that need to be approved? And will all admin users get notification if a user has posted
a new message and it requires admin/moderator approval?

I know this message really doesn't belong here, but I wasn't quite sure where to put it being as I cannot
access the "support" section until the email address change for my "groovis" user has been confirmed (?)
and I can then  have access again to support.

Thanks for your help and let me know if you need any further information. Time is critical as the client
wants to go live with this on Feb 6 or 7.

        Hi Samuel,

Please ignore the fisrt part regarding not being able to get in using my "groovis" account; the confirm email went to my spam folder so I am OK now.

I will look around the support forum to see if I can find out why the email stuff doesn't seem to work right for new registrations. If I can't figure it out, I will repost in the support forum.

        Thanks!
